Okay, not awful. There’s actually a lot of awesome stuff happening to me right now. But who wants to hear me talk about awesome stuff? Pfft. This is the depression generation. This is the generation that grew up listening to sad music and hearing our parents call everyone we love stupid.

So, now, on the subject of my life:

I am so sick of work. It’s not that I’m lazy. But Friendly’s is really getting the best of me. Sure, some days are better than others, but lately it’s just been constantly awful. So much has changed in the last few months. One of my favorite managers got fired and left, another one of my managers is leaving in the next month or so, and the only other manager I actually like has been in a bad mood pretty consistently lately.

As if that weren’t enough, everyone else in my position (fountain/ice cream scooper) has left for the school-year, leaving just me and my managers. The GM has been annoyingly hesitant in hiring new people for my position, and that means I’m getting scheduled for hours that I just can’t work. It’s ridiculous for me to be working till 1AM on school nights, when I leave for school at 7 in the morning. It’s insane. I still have homework and reading and studying, plus improv rehearsals every Wednesday and Sunday night.

I’m going to talk to my manager today about it. If they can’t help me work around my schedule, then I might have to leave.

I just need a change.

(Sorry for the annoyingly ranty post. I hate to be that kind of blog, but we all need to vent sometimes, right? Thanks for following.)

Why should Caesar get to stomp around like a giant, while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? What’s so great about Caesar? Brutus is just as cute as Caesar. OK, Brutus is just as smart as Caesar. People totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar. And when did it become OK for one person to be the boss of everybody? Apple picking.
Cardigan season is upon us.
I’m more in the mood for warm tea.
Pumpkin spice lattes are happening.
Folk music sounds the best when the leaves are orange.
The world looks more beautiful.
Scones and chai lattes.
Late nights spent outside with campfires and tea.

You’ve Really Got a Hold On Me, performed by Elvis Costello and Smokey Robinson.

I never knew that Smokey wrote this song. I of course knew the Beatles version (which I never really loved) and the She & Him version (which I, of course, adore), but I never knew Smokey was the mastermind behind the beautiful track.
