Day 1: Your Favorite Song
Forever For Her (Is Over For Me) by The White Stripes
Picking just one favorite song is ridiculously hard. My favorite song changes with every month, every week, and every day. I have favorite “songs of the moment”, but that’s not really what this is asking for.
The closest thing I have to a favorite song is Forever For Her. Every time I listen to it, I feel like I’m getting just a little bit more out of it… like that bag of chips where you keep finding chips inside long after you were sure you had eaten the last one. The lyrics in this song are beautiful, and Jack and Meg really put their soul into the performance that went onto the album. It’s a perfect White Stripes song, especially because it’s unlike anything else the White Stripes have done. Favorite band, favorite song.
